How Does It Work?
The Sciton Laser skin resurfacing treatment uses a customizable and highly targeted laser to dramatically improve skin appearance. This approach allows for a controlled ablative and coagulative processing of tissue. In other words, it leaves the surrounding tissues undisturbed, allowing for rapid healing.
What Areas Can Be Treated?
- Our providers often uses lasers for skin resurfacing and improving unwanted signs of aging, including wrinkles, discoloration, scarring, and uneven skin tone or texture. Our faces have delicate skin and often bear the brunt of our sun exposure or other lifestyle choices. Therefore, the face is typically the most common place to receive laser skin rejuvenation. You may also consider it on your neck, chest, arms, or virtually anywhere you have signs of aging.
What To Expect

Because smaller areas are treated, most people will need more than one session to achieve desired results. The number of treatments required will depend on those desired results and the depth of the treatments.
The Sciton Laser is completely adjustable, a patient can opt for a deeper level of treatment, which would increase healing time while decreasing the number of treatments, or go for a more gentle approach, which decreases healing time but increases the number of treatments.
After Treatment
- Unlike traditional laser resurfacing and chemical peels, there’s no need for bandaging after treatment. In fact, most treatments require nothing more than protective ointments like Aquaphor or Vaseline for one to two days, to keep the air away from skin as the new epithelium cells generate.
