Our History
Advanced Dermatology and Skin Cancer Institute (ADSCI) was founded by Michael Lin, MD in September 2002. He started the office by subleasing space in an internal medicine office in Tarzana, near Tarzana Regional Medical Center. After one year, he outgrew the office and started his own office in Encino at West Valley Medical Center. Dr. Lin practiced dermatology for 3 years in Encino before moving to his current office in Sherman Oaks. He custom-designed the office to provide the most advanced technologies and facilities, including a AAAASF accredited and Medicare certified surgery center, electronic medical records, narrow band UVB phototherapy booth, and many medical / aesthetic lasers. As the practice grew, other dermatologists, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nurses, and estheticians joined the practice and several satellite offices were opened. Today, ADSCI is one of the leaders in providing the highest level of dermatology care to the Southern California community.

Michael Lin, MD

Sunni is friendly, yet detail-oriented. You want her on your side when trying to figure out how to control your acne or treat your psoriasis. She also enjoys improving the little “imperfections” that only you can see.
*Leila Hazlebeck, PA-C
Leila recently moved to California, but has whole-heartedly embraced the California lifestyle. You may catch her surfing at the beach in Ventura. Professionally, she brings her fun-loving sense of humor to the office. Although no one likes going to the doctor’s office, her energy makes the trip a little more enjoyable.
Nikki Kadkhoda, PA-C
Nikki was born and raised in Los Angeles. After completing her bachelors degree at UCLA, Nikki attended the physician assistant program at Barry University in beautiful Miami, Florida. Nikki enjoys helping her patients in treating a variety of skin care conditions. Her positive and fun demeanor helps her patients feel at ease, but she knows how to take action to achieve success. In her free time, Nikki loves playing with her nieces and nephews, as well as staying active and enjoying the beach.
Joanne Kuo, RN
Joanne is a multifunctional aesthetic nurse who is passionate and enthusiastic to provide the best treatments to her clients. She also enjoys traveling, cooking and playing with her two cats!

Dr. Lin is a board-certified dermatologist and fellow of the American Society for Mohs Surgery. He has performed over 8,000 Mohs surgery cases over 18 years.
