Vitiligo

Vitiligo occurs when the body attacks its own pigment cells and causes the pigment to disappear. This causes white patches to occur. If there is hair growing in the area, the hair often turns white.

Our Vitiligo Treatment Philosophy

Vitiligo occurs when the body attacks its own pigment cells and causes the pigment to disappear. This causes white patches to occur. If there is hair growing in the area, the hair often turns white.
Excimer Laser Treatment
Previously, there were few options to treat vitiligo. Dermatologists used topical steroids, Protopic, and narrow band UVB phototherapy with little success. Recently, we have started using excimer lasers to treat vitiligo with remarkable results. Although many treatments are required (twice a week for a minimum of  30 treatments), complete repigmentation is possible. generally the sooner the treatments are initiated after the pigment starts to go away, the better the results.
